Enclosure rather than pool approval
The municipal Pool Enclosure Bylaw regulates enclosures and gates around privately owned outdoor pools. The key timing requirement is that the enclosure exists before water is added.
The fee comes from the current fee schedule; the source body does not print an amount. Do not import a neighbour municipality’s fence height, permit fee or self-closing-gate specification without reading Chatham-Kent’s bylaw.

Site plan requirements
Show pool, deck if any, pump, filter and enclosure relative to property lines and existing structures. Include distances and any features closer than 1.22 metres or four feet to the enclosure exterior that could help someone climb it.
Show each gate’s location, size and height, the fencing type, enclosure height and spacing of horizontal and vertical members. If a building forms part of the enclosure, show its main entrances.

Submission format and questions
Email a signed completed application and site plan to ckbes@chatham-kent.ca. Staff can print drawings only up to 11 by 17 inches. Larger drawings must be delivered to Chatham Civic Centre or mailed.
For exact enclosure requirements, use the linked bylaw or call 519-352-8401 extension 3215, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A complete plan reduces missing-information exchanges but does not itself establish approval.
